BIBLE READING

The best time to start reading your bible is TODAY!

The 1st thing is to get into the routine of reading your bible daily.

To start reading your Bible daily, get a Bible you understand, set a time (preferably mornings), have a reading plan, and a place to write notes. Free Bibles are available online and through apps.

  1. CHOOSE A BIBLE

There are three major types of bible translations and each serve a different purpose. These include the word for word, thought for thought (or meaning for meaning), and paraphrased.

My recommendations are

  1. WORD FOR WORD TRANSLATIONS

  • English Standard Version (ESV)

  • New American Standard Version (NASB)

  • Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

  • New King James Version (NKJV)

     2. OTHER

  • New International Version (NIV)

  • New Living Translation  (NLT)

  • Amplified Bible

2. FOLLOW A READING PLAN

Bible study is born out of routine daily reading. Use a Bible reading plan to guide your daily reading. If you are new to Christianity, I recommend reading the New testament first and then gradually move to old testament.

Plans can be found on the following links.

You can generate you own custom reading plan.

3. BE CONSISTENT

  • Consistency: Choose a specific time each day, whether in the morning, during a lunch break, or before bed. Having a set time helps make Bible reading a daily routine.

  • Location: Find a quiet, comfortable place where you can focus without distractions. It could be a cozy corner at home, a quiet spot in the park, or even a specific chair.

  • If you miss a day, don’t get discouraged. Pick up where you left off and continue. The goal is consistency over time, not perfection.
